Amphora-Research is a small British software company that provides electronic replacements for traditional bound laboratory notebooks, specifically to Life Sciences companies in Europe and America. PatentSafe, Amphora's main product, is the world's most popular solution for creating and preserving records to be used in patent defence litigation. It enables scientists to use computers safely for recording their experiments, while providing Patent Counsel and Intellectual Property managers with fully verifiable paper and/or electronic records. |
Project Brief In late 2004, Amphora were bidding on contracts for large installations at prominent and established, international organisations. Amphora wanted to improve the branding of PatentSafe to convey the impression of an established and trustworthy product. PatentSafe needed a radical facelift to give the user interface an intuitive, polished and professional finish. The PatentSafe feature set was being expanded to meet the needs of the bids. Additionally, with the installed base growing from under 100 to nearer 1000 seats, scaling the user experience became critical to the success of the product. I was employed as the information architect and interface designer to deliver these enhancements. |
